Individual Therapy

Life can feel overwhelming and you might find yourself feeling that you are not good enough, that there is something wrong with you, or that life is too much right now.

Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety, self-doubt and shame, feelings of failure, burnout, substance use, loneliness, loss, or another challenge that makes life feel like a struggle. Whatever has brought you in, starting therapy can help you feel better about yourself and your life.

Individual therapy offers a space just for you—a place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and nonjudgemental environment. You can openly discuss those things in your life that can be too difficult to approach with other people and find strategies for making change or moving forward. Together, we’ll work to untangle the challenges you’re facing, identify what’s holding you back, and help you build a greater sense of confidence and meaning.

I offer individual, virtual therapy that is effective and directed for clients in New York and Washington in the United States and British Columbia in Canada.

Therapy can provide:

  • Relief from emotional pain: Address anxiety, depression, or other struggles that have been weighing on you.

  • Clarity and self-awareness: Understanding can help you to feel better about yourself and make the most effective steps towards what you want.

  • Tools for change: Develop strategies to cope with challenges, improve communication, and build resilience.

  • A renewed sense of meaning: Move toward a life that feels more aligned with your values and aspirations.

When you come to therapy, you don’t have to have everything figured out. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a collaborative, non-judgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful change, one step at a time.

We can address these concerns:

Anxiety

When anxiety takes hold, it can feel like your mind is racing and your body is constantly on edge. Whether it’s a nagging worry or overwhelming panic, therapy can help you find relief, understand your triggers, and develop tools to regain a sense of calm and control.

Self-Doubt and Shame

Self-doubt and shame can weigh heavily, making it hard to trust yourself or feel good about who you are. Together, we can unpack where these feelings come from, challenge the inner critic, and build a stronger, more compassionate relationship with yourself.

Feelings of Failure

Feeling like you’re not measuring up—whether to your own expectations or others’—can leave you stuck and disheartened. Therapy can provide space to explore these feelings, redefine success, and reconnect with your sense of purpose and self-worth.

Substance Use

Struggling with substance use can feel isolating and overwhelming. Therapy offers a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore your relationship with substances and work toward healthier coping strategies.

Life Transitions

Change is a natural part of life, but even positive transitions can feel overwhelming. Whether you're navigating a career shift, adjusting to a new role in life, or coping with unexpected changes, therapy can provide support and clarity. Together, we’ll explore your feelings, find balance, and help you move forward with confidence and resilience.

Burnout

When burnout sets in, even the smallest tasks can feel overwhelming. You might feel exhausted, unmotivated, or detached from things that once brought you joy. Therapy can help you navigate these feelings, set boundaries, and rediscover balance and fulfillment.

Loneliness

Loneliness can feel like a heavy cloud, even when you’re surrounded by others. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore what’s missing, gain tools for connecting, and cultivate deeper relationships with others and yourself.

How to Get Started

Beginning therapy can feel challenging, but making that first step can make a huge difference and feel relieving. Our work together starts with a free initial consultation, where you can talk about what you want to get out of therapy, get a feel for what working with me is like, and learn the details of my practice.

From there, we’ll move into the first few sessions, where we’ll explore your goals, talk through what’s been bringing you stress or challenges, and identify tools and strategies to help you take meaningful steps toward growth and change.

Throughout the process, you can expect a collaborative, supportive space where you’re met with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
